At Temple, we’re committed to helping veterans make a smooth transition from military to college life. It’s one of the reasons Temple is designated a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs Magazine and ranked number 24 in the country for "Best College for Veterans" by U.S. News and World Report. Military service members and veterans also enjoy the unparalleled access to excellence and opportunities for success that we offer. We invite you to learn more about Temple University and apply now.
Transfer credits for military service
Temple awards college credit for documented military experience according to the ACE (American Council on Education) guide recommendations. Examples of acceptable documentation for military experience include AARTS (Army/ACE Registry Transcript System), SMART (Sailor/Marine/ACE Registry Transcript), or Community College of the Air Force transcript. For credit to be awarded, it must be useful in a student's program of study. Learn more about transfer credits for veterans.
Applying for benefits
We offer several programs, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program, that help give financial support to veterans and military service members. You need to apply for benefits through the Office of the University Registrar once you’re admitted to the university and again at the beginning of each semester.
If you have questions, please call the Veterans Certification Officer in the Office of the University Registrar at 215.204.7378.
