Department of Architecture and Environmental Design

The Department of Architecture and Environmental Design is an academic and research unit within the Tyler School of Art and Architecture and is located at the Ambler and Main campuses with courses also available at the Center City and Harrisburg campuses. Ambler Campus Sustainability Council

The Ambler Campus Sustainability Council (ACSC) supports the development of sustainability initiatives on the Ambler Campus with respect to the built environment, environmental management, programs, services, and university policies.

The Vision of the Council is an environmentally regenerative and resilient Ambler Campus. 

The Mission of the Council is to discover innovations to make the campus more sustainable and educate and persuade the Ambler community to act. 

The works in close partnership with the Temple University Office of Sustainability and meets on the second Friday of each month and includes students, faculty, staff and community members.

Temple's Office of Sustainability is responsible for assessing the University's sustainability efforts, studying best practices and recommending tangible short- and long-term actions the University can take to promote environmental responsibility and pursue sustainable practices. The Center for Sustainable Communities (CSC) develops and promotes new approaches to protect and preserve quality of life through sustainable development. The Center acts as a resource for government agencies, community organizations, and developers, providing objective information and services to improve decision-making relative to land use and water resources planning and development.
