You are not alone!
About one third of our students are at least 25 years old at Temple University Ambler.
You don’t have to worry about feeling out of place. Our adult learners, also known as “non-traditional” or “re-entry” students enjoy the classroom dynamics that result from a wide range of people interacting.
Thinking about taking a class, earning a degree, or just seeing what college life is like? Students of all ages and backgrounds take courses at Temple University Ambler.
We understand the need to find a balance between the many responsibilities that you manage in addition to returning to college. Some students work during the day; Temple University Ambler has a variety of classes that are available in the evening and majors that you can complete entirely at night. Other students are only able to take daytime classes and enjoy the traditional scheduling method.
Some students need to attend part-time, while others are ready to complete a degree by taking the maximum amount of credit allowed. Each of you is different. We meet with each student individually to offer guidance, suggestions, and direction.
If you decide to apply, we can assist with that process. If you decide to take a class or two before making that commitment you can attend as a “non-degree seeking (non-matriculated)” student. We can offer ideas on appropriate courses and help with the registration process until you are ready to apply. Students are encouraged to apply to a degree program before reaching 30 credits!
If you are thinking about starting or coming back to college but aren’t sure what path to take, give our Admissions office a call at 267-468-8100 and ask to speak to a counselor. We can advise you on one course to try; maybe an evening course will work for you, or even starting a full-time degree program.
