The Temple Ambler Field Station is located on the Temple Ambler campus, about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia, PA, in Upper Dublin Township, Montgomery County. You will find directions to our campus here. Campus grounds are open for visitors year-round from dawn until dusk daily.

Parking and Transportation

We have ample parking on campus for visitors and Field Station users. When you visit the Field Station, we ask that you register your vehicle. Please note that failure to register your vehicle could result in a parking citation.  Please also respect "no traffic" and "no parking" areas.

The campus is also connected to Philadelphia’s transit system and Temple’s Main Campus through regional rail and bus access, providing many options for accessing the Field Station.

Trail System

researchers walking on the woodland trails

Temple Ambler campus has just under two miles of woodland trails that create a perfect natural escape. The trail system is easily accessible from parking Lot 2 near the Learning Center.  We ask that you please stay on trails and only enter the woods from the three marked Loop Road entrances.

We ask that you help us preserve our natural areas and grounds by observing Leave No Trace principles. These include planning ahead, staying on the trails, properly disposing of trash, refraining from damaging or removing plants, and being respectful of wildlife.  A complete list of visitor use polices can be found here.
