SEPTA Regional High Speed Lines

The Lansdale/Doylestown line makes at least one stop an hour from 5 a.m. to midnight at the Ambler train station. The University provides free bus service to and from Temple University Ambler during the fall and spring semesters (please note: There is will be no shuttle service the week of Sept. 6).

Ambler Train Station Transportation

This bus connects the Ambler Campus with the Ambler Station of the Septa Regional Rail System. It operates Monday through Friday and serves as another means to access Main Campus and Center City . Septa train schedules can be obtained from Septa or the Student Activity Offices at Ambler and Main Campus.

Transportation to and from Temple University Ambler to the Ambler Borough Train Station will be discontinued in fall 2022.

Bus Services

Three SEPTA buses stop about 2 miles from campus. The 94 and 134 buses run along Bethlehem Pike from Chestnut Hill Loop to the Montgomery Mall, and the 98 runs from Norristown to Willow Grove.

If you wish to switch from a SEPTA bus to the TU shuttle, take the 94 or 98 to the Ambler Regional Rail station and wait for the shuttle there. If you want to walk or bicycle to campus from a SEPTA bus, take the 94, 98, or 134 to Lindenwold Ave. and Bethlehem Pike and follow the walking/bicycling directions.

Walking or Biking (Ambler Borough to Ambler Campus)

  • From the Ambler Regional Rail station at Butler Ave.: walk northeast on Butler (towards Main St. and Spring Garden St.) for 0.3 miles.

  • Turn RIGHT and walk on Lindenwold Ave. for 0.6 miles.  (Cross Bethlehem Pike after 0.3 miles – this is the only dangerous street crossing on the route.  Be careful!)

  • (Note: if you are coming on the 94 or 134 bus, you can get off at Lindenwold and Bethlehem and follow Lindenwold to meet up with these directions.)

  • Turn RIGHT on Lake Drive and continue for 0.2 miles.

  • Turn RIGHT on Loch Alsh Blvd. and continue for approximately 0.3 miles until you pass under the Highway 309 overpass.

  • Turn LEFT on the road immediately past Highway 309 – Spark Dr.  Continue 0.5 miles on Spark Dr. to Susquehanna Rd. 

  • Cross to the other side of Susquehanna Rd., using the pedestrian crossing light, then turn RIGHT on Susquehanna Rd. and continue 0.1 miles.

  • Turn LEFT at Joel Dr. and continue for 0.5 miles to Meetinghouse Rd.

  • Turn LEFT on Meetinghouse Rd. and campus is less than 0.1 miles on your right.

Total distance from bus stop at Lindenwold and Bethlehem: 1.9 miles
