We are looking for volunteers for more than just gardening - some of our volunteers help out at events sharing information about the Arboretum, some help with giving tours, some do help our staff horticulturists care for the gardens, some act as educators for field trips and designing standards-based curriculum, some help with inventorying and mapping plants in the collection. We can use a wide variety of volunteers.

The Ambler Arboretum of Temple University is an excellent educational resource for students, faculty and visitors alike. From degree programs in horticulture and landscape architecture to non-credit programs in floral design, Temple University Ambler has more than a century of teaching sustainable practices and building important connections to the natural world.

Temple University Ambler has a long and storied history. Originally founded in 1911 as the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women, The grounds have gone through a great many permutations over the years. Read up on some of the history all around you.
