Brunch in the Gardens

Ambler in Bloom is the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University’s annual garden party fundraiser, celebrating the public gardens, programs and communities that grow here.

This year’s theme, Rooted in the Elements, centers on the essential forces that sustain the landscape—roots, sun, water and soil—and invites guests to experience the elements that bring the gardens to life.

As a special prelude, sponsors and their guests are invited behind the scenes for craft cocktails and a personalized tour. Kathy Salisbury, our Arboretum Director, will lead a guided journey through the formal gardens, sharing the stories and horticultural vision that our donors help bring to life.

The event continues as all guests arrive in the heart of campus for a luncheon served from a series of curated artisanal food truck stations. Each chef has been invited to interpret the Rooted in the Elements theme in their own way, with offerings designed to complement and connect with the Arboretum’s plantings.

Following lunch, guests will move through the Arboretum’s newest garden spaces at their own pace, enjoying garden-inspired cocktails, roaming oyster service and hands-on interactive experiences that explore the essential elements that make our gardens grow.

Live music and brief remarks from campus leadership will offer moments of reflection; a silent auction will be woven throughout the afternoon.

Ambler in Bloom welcomes guests who value and support public access to educational gardens. The event is designed to inspire creativity, spark discovery and foster meaningful connections to the landscape.

Proceeds from Ambler in Bloom support the Arboretum’s mission of environmental education, horticultural excellence and free public access to the gardens. We remain an educational resource modeling environmental responsibility and the art and science of horticulture, while fostering research, celebrating the achievements of women in horticulture, preserving the historic significance of the campus and highlighting the health benefits of nature, plants and gardening.

The Ambler Arboretum of Temple University is the university’s public botanical garden, outdoor classroom and living laboratory. If you cannot attend, please consider donating.
