When students begin classes for the spring 2025 semester at Temple University Ambler, they will be met with a special week-long celebration!

Temple University Ambler has planned several activities for students to help them start the semester off right by meeting new friends, having fun and acclimating to their new environment.

"Welcome Week activities allow new students to familiarize themselves with the campus and everything offered here. Returning students can reconnect and learn more about our programs for the upcoming semester!" said Krista DeLone, Assistant Director of Student and Campus Life. "The goal of Welcome Week is to get students back in the Temple University spirit and engaging with the campus community!"

The celebration kicks off at Temple Ambler on Monday, January 13, the first day of classes, with a Coffee and Hot Chocolate Bar in the Ambler Learning Center Lobby from 10:30 to 1 p.m. Stop by the Learning Center Lobby from 10:30 to 1 p.m. on your way into class for a hot chocolate (complete with toppings!) or coffee.

Need a little Monday Zen? Join Holly Lynn, Manager of Experiential Learning at Temple Ambler, for Mindful Mondays each Monday this semester. Activities may include: Environmental Meditation, Focus Object Creation, Labyrinth Self-Discovery and Reflection, Mindful Movement, Nature Journaling, Nature Mandalas and Sensory Exploration. Information: holly.lynn@temple.edu.

On Tuesday, January 14, students are invited to the Ambler Campus Welcome Breakfast! Enjoy a free Wawa Sizzli breakfast sandwich, coffee, fruit and more from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Learning Center Lobby!

Students are invited to learn about student resources and campus programs at the Campus Resource Fair from 12 to 2 p.m. January 14 and Wednesday, January 15, in the Learning Center Lobby.

"At the Campus Resource Fair representatives from different areas of campus will be in the lobby to share information about resources, campus programs, campus jobs, research opportunities and ways to get involved," said DeLone.

Stop by the Learning Center Lobby on January 14 and grab some study snacks, or spin the wheel to win a free T-shirt, sticker, or other campus swag. Get some freshly popped popcorn before evening classes from 5 to 5:30 p.m.! Snacks and Giveaways will also be available from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15.

On Wednesday, January 15, students are invited to enjoy a free lunch 12 to 2 p.m. in the Learning Center Information Commons!

It's time to get crafty on Thursday, January 16! Customize your own trail mix at the trail mix bar in the Learning Center Lobby from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Options include your favorite nuts, chocolates and other fun bite sized bits to fuel you through the week!

Visit the tables in the Learning Center Lobby all day January 16, to relax with some fun and easy winter crafts. Show your creativity by designing your own snowflake or snowman!

On Friday, January 17, cap off the week with a Cozy Afternoon of S'mores, Puzzles and Tea! Stop by the Learning Center Lobby table on Friday, January 17, from 12 to 2 p.m. to roast your own s'mores, grab a bag of tea and spend some time working on classic jigsaw puzzles.

Throughout the week, students are invited to discover whooooo's hiding on campus during the Great Campus Owl Hunt! Search all around Ambler Campus for miniature owls that have been hidden away over break. When you find one, scan the QR code on the bottom of the owl to enter to win a prize! A student will be randomly chosen (one found owl = one entry) to win lunch for themselves and one to two friends!

Throughout the week, students may also envision the year ahead with the Office of Student and Campus Life's Goal Setting & Vision Board Station.

Start your new year right! Stop by the Learning Center 2nd Floor Lobby from Monday, January 13 through Friday, January 17, to visit the goal setting and vision board station! Make yourself a vision board to manifest the 2025 you want or add your goals to a goal bingo card. While supplies last.
