From Trees to Tech: STEM Explorers

(Rising 6th to 9th graders) 

Join us for an inclusive, one-week experiential learning program designed for middle schoolers interested in exploring science, technology, engineering and math. Discover how the world around us works through hands-on learning experiences and demonstrations, and opportunities to develop teamwork and leadership skills.

From STEAM to SPACE: A Scientific Journey 

(Rising 6th graders to Rising 9th graders) 

Join in a journey to explore scientific concepts involving fun hands-on activities that will engage your imagination and creativity including flying a full-size flight simulator! This 4- day STEM learning experience will engage students in problem solving and critical thinking exercises (individual and team building) designed to enlighten and increase understanding of the physics of power, propulsion, inertia, flight and will also introduce some navigation (GPS) concepts. 

M-Th, June 29 to July 2 • 9 AM to 4 PM • $325, plus $20 materials fee 

 

Wickline Casting: Intro to Film and TV

(Rising 5th graders to Rising 9th graders) 

In this cool, innovative program, participants will work as cast and crew. Students are taught the basic levels of acting, directing, voice-over, operating the camera and working on green screen to allow realistic backgrounds. Scriptwriting, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced.  Each day is different as they create fun projects, commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. A huge benefit of this camp is increasing memory, reading, and performance skills, working in teams and confidence-building.

Green Thumb Academy

(Rising 6th graders to Rising 9th graders) 

Do you have a love for all things plants? Do you enjoy being outside in nature and maybe getting your hands dirty? Then this program is for you! Join us at the Ambler Arboretum for Green Thumb Academy, where you will learn all about gardening, plants and the people who love plants so much, they made working with them their careers! Through hands-on activities, you will discover the many ways you can appreciate horticulture, including landscape design, outdoor gardening as well as growing in a greenhouse, floral arranging, creating botanical illustrations and more! Don’t be afraid to get dirty! Daily activities will utilize the Ambler Arboretum, greenhouse and outdoor gardens and trails.

SeaPerch Robots

(Rising 6th to Rising 9th graders) 

Get ready to dive into the world of underwater robots! SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips students with resources to build an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) while learning about robotics, engineering, science and math. During this 2-week program, students will work in cooperative learning groups and teams will test their robots, competing in challenges in the campus pool (students will not be in the pool; no swimming required). Join us for a fun, multidisciplinary learning experience! 

M-F, July 20 to 31 • 9 AM to 4 PM • $755 

 

Camp Branchout

(Rising 6th graders to Rising 9th graders) 

Explore Temple University Ambler’s Camp Branchout, where you will dive into ecology adventures, creative storytelling, outdoor skills, nature hikes, and participate in teamwork-driven games, including low-ropes challenges designed for fun and collaboration. Students learn by doing, grow their confidence and make lasting connections in the great outdoors.
