When students begin classes for the spring 2024 semester at Temple University Ambler, they will be met with a special week-long celebration!
Temple University Ambler has planned several activities for students to help them start the semester off right by meeting new friends, having fun and acclimating to their new environment.
"Welcome Week activities allow new students to familiarize themselves with the campus and everything offered here. Returning students can reconnect and learn more about our programs for the upcoming semester!" said Krista DeLone, Assistant Director of Student and Campus Life. "The goal of Welcome Week is to get students back in the Temple University spirit and engaging with the campus community!"
The celebration kicks off at Temple Ambler on Tuesday, January 16, the first day of classes, with a Welcome Breakfast in the Ambler Learning Center Lobby from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Stop by the Learning Center lobby to say hello to classmates and grab a Wawa breakfast sandwich or coffee before heading to class!
Students are invited to learn about student resources and campus programs at Campus Connect from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. January 16 and Wednesday, January 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Learning Center Lobby.
"At Campus Connect representatives from different areas of campus will be in the lobby to share information about resources, campus programs and ways to get involved," said DeLone.
Start Wednesday, January 17, off right with a Morning Wakeup from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the bus stop in the Learning Center Parking Lot. As you get off the bus or out of your car, join Student and Campus Life to start your morning off right. Grab some coffee, a donut and some motivation to take on the day!
Students are also invited to reconnect with friends or meet some new faces on campus while enjoying a pizza lunch at the Welcome Back Pizza Party from 12 to 2 p.m. in Bright Hall Lounge on January 17.
You know what's better than more resources? S'more resources! Students are invited to meet with various campus departments while roasting their own marshmallow for a tasty s'more! S'more Resources will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, in the Learning Center Lobby.
What reality TV show are you currently binging? Share your hot takes on all the reality show drama with your classmates while enjoying an empanada during Empanadas and Drama from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. January 18 in the Learning Center Lobby!
On Friday, January 19, join Student and Campus Life for Snack Vibes from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Grab some snacks for your day outside of Dixon Hall (Rain Location: Dixon Hall Lobby) and engage with classmates about your first week vibes and feelings!
Throughout the week, students are invited to discover whooooo's hiding on campus during the Great Campus Owl Hunt! Search all around Ambler Campus for miniature owls that have been hidden away over break. When you find one, scan the QR code on the bottom of the owl to enter to win a prize! A student will be randomly chosen (one found owl = one entry) to win lunch for themselves and one to two friends!
